Gifted and Creativity Assistant Professor in the Special Education

During my college years (1988-1993) as undergraduate student of History and Political Sciences at the Yarmouk University, I successfully fulfilled the requirements and was awarded Al-Hasan Prize for Youth in 1993. After graduation, I worked as a teacher for the Jordanian Ministry of Education, and because of holding the prize, I was selected to serve as a liaison representing Al-Hasan Prize for Youth and Supervisor of the Music and Cultural Activities within a department under the Jordanian Ministry of Education. Fortunately, with Al-Hasan Prize for Youth I was motivated to further develop my musical skills under the Intensive Program for Music and Chanting managed by the Student Deanship in the Yarmouk University.

Few years later, I joined the Master’s program at the Yarmouk University to study the Modern History with the focus of my thesis was on the Indian Subcontinent. As doctoral student at Amman Arab University for Graduate Studies in 2004, I was interested in the giftedness and creativity issues. So, I worked on my doctoral dissertation emphasizing on the enriching programs designed gifted students to develop their critical thinking skills in social studies. Luckily, this topic was one of the essential elements on which the philosophy of Al-Hasan Prize for Youth was based.

In 2005, I joined Al-Qasim University in Saudi Arabia as Assistant Professor at in the Preparatory Year Deanship and the Faculty of Education, then moved in 2013 to Al-Taef University, and in 2015 moved to King Khaled University as faculty member at the Faculty of Education for both undergraduate and graduate students, which is my current workplace.

Over the university life, I contributed to the research body with more than thirty research reports published in peer refereed journals and can be accessed through SCOPUS, DOAJ, and EBSCO. Primarily, my research interest concerns with caring of gifted students, musical intelligence, Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence, community responsibility, tolerance, biotechnological issues, emotional intelligence, spiritual intelligence, happiness, reflective thinking, creative thinking, and cognitive communication competence.

Additionally, I attended a number of training courses on eLearning, International Computer Driving License ICDL, faculty assessment methods in higher education and many other short courses of interest in thehigher education field. As trainer, I implemented a training course for the faculties on successful intelligence and creativity.

Prospects for the future include an ambitious project of establishing a world-level refereed journal for youth activities supervised by the Prize Office and accessed via the international databases.

I proud to say that my participation in the prize empowered my adventurous spirit, enhanced qualities of justice-seeking, take community responsibility, community service, and environment protection that had positive impact on my students.

Finally, I have the interest to conduct a study on the impact of Prize’s programs on developing multiple intelligence among participants.
